Zapp's International Beer Festival

Zapp’s International Beer Festival 2012 has now come and gone.  As usual it was a fantastic fundraising event for the LSU Rural Life Museum.  The weather could not have been better and the turnout was just as good as in previous years.  There were some changes from year’s past though.  Two new up and coming Louisiana Breweries were present – Gnarly Barley and Chufunkta Brewing, Lazy Magnolia released a new IPA, and new Baton Rouge Home Brew Club – The Bicycle Brew Club – made its debut.  However it could be argued that the most exciting/talked about change was the setup that Brasseurs a la Maison showcased.

Tap-A-Canoe ™ (not really trademarked…..yet), a 32 tap mobile draft setup poured its first beers on Saturday, to great fanfare if I say so myself. The only thing more impressive than the tap-a-canoe ™ was that the club donated 39 beers to the event.  You could not add another beer to the 12ft tall menus if you tried.  Thanks again to everyone who attended and donated their time and beer.  Hopefully we will generate a good amount of interest from the outing and pick up some new members.  Enjoy the pictures.
